However, for dark skin like freckles/dark skin/stretch marks, these techniques can also absorb melanin from the skin's surface, potentially causing skin damage, pigmentation or burns.

In addition, the melanin content in light-colored hair is only 13% of normal hair, and the response to energy is very small. It rarely absorbs enough heat to effectively stop hair growth, and it has very low melanin content. So we do not recommend IPL hair removal to remove these hairs.
