Principles of hair growth

What we generally call hair is actually the part that grows on the outside of the skin. The scientific name is the hair shaft. Generally, traditional hair removal methods such as razors and depilatory creams actually remove the hair from the hair shaft and do not affect the continuation of the hair follicles. Growth, so after a few days the part below the skin continues to grow, it will become a new hair shaft and need to be shed again.
The growth of hair depends on a special structure at the end of the hair follicle, which contains a large number of hair mother cells. Hair mother cells continue to divide and multiply, which makes the hair follicle metabolism extremely active, and the hair continues to grow.

Three stages of hair growth
The growth of hair is cyclical, which is divided into (a) growth period, (b) Decay period, and (c) resting period.
Growth period: The hair in the growth period grows 0.27~0.40mm daily for 2~7 years, with continuous Growth is the characteristic, and then enters a period of decline.
Decay period: At this time, the hair stops growing and is easy to fall off, usually for 2 to 3 weeks, and then enters the resting period
Resting period: The rest period generally lasts for 3 to 4 months, until the start of a new hair follicle cycle.

The ideal hair removal effect is aimed at the hair follicles, not the hair shafts, destroying the growth period of the hair and making the hair enter the resting period.
